City Move Interdesign

City Move Interdesign is the main activity in a project about how to relocate people and societies in a positive way, despite unwanted reasons.

The project will look at the possibilities of creating new spaces for people both in a human and technological way where homes, workplaces, tourist attractions and meeting places have to be left behind or relocated.

Background
During our vast history people all over the world have been forced to move. Many times with a huge impact on the development of societies over time.
What is an Icsid Interdesign?
An Icsid Interdesign is a two-week workshop where an international team of work collaboratively on a predetermined issue of regional and/or international significance.
What is City Move Interdesign?
In the northern part of Sweden the mining industry continues to expand and, in certain areas, the ground is crumbling under entire cities.
Concept studio
During August 2008, six students have collaborated in a research project in Gellivare – the Concept studio.
Outcomes & Expected Results

Participation
Icsid Interdesign Workshops were created to provide professional development opportunities to professional designers.
Ownership
Due to the collaborative contributions in the Interdesign process, all shared knowledge and produced design concepts become the shared intellectual property of all participating designers.
