The project City Move Interdesign 2009 was planned, organized and run by SVID, Swedish Industrial Design Foundation in cooperation with ICSID, International Council of Societies of Industrial Design. How to Move a City is a documentary film produced by David Wikdahl and filmed during the City Move Interdesign in Gellivare 2009.
The film is about the problems that appear when community – Malmberget in Gellivare - has to move. The expansion of the mine creates a dramatic situation among the inhabitants. The film is about what happens when 40 international architects, city planners and designers work towards finding solutions during a two-week long workshop.
The process and presentations in the film could be adapted and implemented by communities in similar areas around the world.
