New Sustainability Guide provides knowledge and inspiration for circular work

SVID presents the new international "Sustainability Guide", where companies, designers and higher education institutions will find inspiration and tools to work sustainably. is a valuable source for those who want to learn more about ecodesign and make the leap to a circular business model.

"Circular" work contributes to a more profitable business by increasing competitiveness, lowering costs and improving customer relationships. The new website presents business models for circular economy, principles of ecodesign and cases of companies that have come far in their circular work. Here you will find answers to what it means to work in a circular instead of linear way and how designers can extend a product's life by lifecycle thinking – and much more besides!

– The website will serve as a springboard and source of knowledge for those who have not yet taken their first step in the process, but also as an in-depth resource for those who have already come further, says Anna Velander Gisslén, Project and Communications Manager for the EcoDesign Circle project at SVID, Swedish Industrial Design Foundation.

The results of a survey among small and medium-sized companies, design organisations and universities, served as the basis for the platform. Through the survey, SVID was able to identify the market's knowledge needs for sustainable and circular work.

– The former Swedish Sustainability Guide has been a much-appreciated tool, but there has been a big demand for an English version. With new content in English we can cater for this need among more in Sweden and abroad, says Kristina Frisk, CEO, SVID.

The Sustainability Guide is being released in several countries in the Baltic Sea region as part of the Interreg BSR-project "EcoDesign Circle" (co-funded through the European Regional Development Fund). During the year, the guide will be translated and launched in other languages.
