To invest or not to invest in design, that is the question for a number of companies. For some, the choice is obvious, but for other companies the question hasn´t even been raised yet.

Design means different things to different companies. At SVID, we work to raise the level of understanding that companies, organizations, and public bodies have of design and its importance as a copetetive tool. 

Here you will find some examples of how design has been a fundamental part of the development of the products and their success. Some of them are part of larger projects in which SVID has been involved. This list of examples will be updated as soon as new projects are concluded.

  • Atlet trucks

    Atlet AB in Mölnlycke manufactures trucks. Since the 1980s Atlet has been working alongside designers in a strategic, long-term effort to strengthen the company and its brand image.

  • Conroy Medical HandySeal

    HandySeal is a sealing pistol used to hermetically seal PVC blood tubes during transfusions etc. The company more than doubled its turnover in 12 months and is has established on both the American and Japanese markets.

  • Electrolux Trilobite

    Packing as much as possible into as small a format as possible at a reasonable price was both the goal and challenge for the developers of Electrolux's robot vacuum cleaner.

  • Gunnebo SpeedGate

    In just five years, Gunnebo Entrance Control has become the market leader in the field. The company is convinced that design is an essential condition for its own growth and success.

  • Hörnell Speedglas 9000

    Speedglas 9000 is a purpose-designed welding helmet, and the result of Hörnell International's first joint development project with industrial designers. Speedglas 9000 has attracted worldwide acclaim and won several awards.

  • Medcore Vivar Organ Cooler

    Medcore Vivar Organ Cooler is a cooling table designed for use in the transplantation of organs.

  • Nimbus 300 Nova

    Nimbus 300 Nova, was developed to meet demands on size, performance and target group. The idea was to design a boat that was as comfortable and safe as the rest of the Nimbus range, yet sporty and stylish enough to attract a younger customer.
