Nimbus 300 Nova
Nimbus 300 Nova, was developed to meet demands on size, performance and target group. The idea was to design a boat that was as comfortable and safe as the rest of the Nimbus range, yet sporty and stylish enough to attract a younger customer.
The designer, Ocke Mannerfelt, created a model that Nimbus was able to protect with a design patent, which was important given the company's history of plagiarism problems.
The design solved a number of fundamental problems for the user. The boat is practical, easy to operate and safe, and thanks to its design conserves fuel as well. What's more, the design investment is low in relation to the expected turnover.
Having been awarded Excellent Swedish Design strengthens both the product and the brand. Nimbus has also applied the new concepts to two other models, which are manufactured in Visby, creating 21 new jobs there.
